The Business Events Data Programme measures business event activity in New Zealand. It focusses on MICE events
(meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) attended by at least 50 people. Public and social gatherings
like weddings, dance parties, church services, concerts, sports events, and consumer events are outside the scope
of the programme.
The programme is funded by Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), Regional Tourism Organisations New Zealand (RTNZ), and Tourism New Zealand.

Business events are an important but often hidden contributor to the New
Zealand economy.
The Business Events Data Programme addresses this problem by collecting and reporting valuable information about
business events held in New Zealand.
We collect data from venues about MICE events they have hosted to measure
regional and national business event activity.
